Alexandre Bilodeau did what Jenn Heil had hoped to do last night when he won Canada's first ever Gold medal on home turf today in the Men's Freestyle competition at Cypress Mountain. Alexandre was in second place after the qualifying run, but had two huge jumps and a blistering time down the hill in the final round to claim the gold. Go Canada Go! As usual, there is a compelling back story to Alexandre's success today.
Also today, Christina Groves took the bronze in the Women's 3000m Speed Skating, and in Pairs Figure Skating, Jessica Dube and Bryce Davison did not have a great skate but still managed to end up in 6th place, just ahead of Anabelle Langlois and Cody Hay (who deserved better in my opinion).
